Arctitsch bliss
Dama 25
Short synopsis
Arctitsch bliss workshop deals with romanticised cultural connotations related to the Arctic. The Arctic has often been seen as a fantasy-filled wilderness, where people can experience "true nature". See the Aurora Borealis, meet Santa Claus and find your inner peace away from the huss and fuss of city life. But perhaps we can find some truth underneath the kitschy image?
The workshop also explores some roots of the Dama network – about ten years ago our workshops explored more the expressive minglings of Dance and technology. Since then the focus has been perhaps more in inter-disciplinary artmaking processes. So let's look back and to the present: what kinds of technologies are available now, what is still difficult, how do technological things change or advance our expressive means? And of course: how do performative artists, designers, artists and new media people collaborate?
The workshop is held during the Arctic Design week, and most likely our workshop will be held as more or less unofficial program. It is also possible that we perform outdoors so be prepared for this.
